Our 2025 Frank Basile Emerging Stories Fellow, Brenda Johnson, will take us on a storytelling journey that redefines what it means to grow older—with resilience, joy, and hope.

In “Aging. Reimagined!” Brenda invites you to see growing older as a bold, beautiful evolution. With warmth, humor, and a smile, she will weave together personal stories, timeless folklore and historical narrative that will leave everyone more optimistic about the road ahead. Let’s reimagine aging—together!

Storytelling Arts of Indiana offers an annual fellowship to an Indiana storyteller to create and premiere new material. The Frank Basile Emerging Stories Fellowship encourages and recognizes the talent and skills of our Hoosier tellers. This program is possible because of the generosity and commitment of Frank and Katrina Basile to the art of storytelling.
