Presented at IF Theatre’s Black Box, BIOKINEME2: The Snow & the Midnight Water blends movement, video, robotics, and drag to ask a simple but radical question: What if our bodies are not just users of technology—but technologies themselves?
Drawing inspiration from cybernetics and Indigenous ways of knowing, the work challenges familiar assumptions about machines, information, and progress. Instead, it centers embodiment and interconnectedness to hint at water as the ultimate measure for intelligence (artificial or not).
Through performance and conversation, BIOKINEME2 invites audiences to imagine more responsive, ecological, and interspecies futures for human–computer interaction, grounded not in consumption or control, but in ritual, curiosity, and sensation.
RSVP not required, but encouraged as seats are limited.
The Speculative Play and Just Futurities residency is supported by IU Indianapolis Arts and Humanities Institute, Ray Bradbury Center, and the Center for Africana Studies and Culture, and is funded by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
Special thanks to Curiosity Lab @ IUB and the Luddy School of Informatics for their curiosity and collaboration on this performance, and to IF Theatre for their continued support of arts programming.
