THE BOOK:
Educated meets I’m Glad My Mom Died in this memoir, where a girl goes from fearing the Rapture to questioning everything when Mom declares she's a flat-earther.

“I found Huckle’s voice beautifully honest, keeping a balance between hilarious and heartbreaking as she details her internal struggles, growing up feeling caught between expectations and reality.” -The Santa Barbara Independent

“Susan Huckle does an amazing job of dropping the audience smack in the middle of every awkward, nerve-wracking scenario. Multiple times, I felt myself dabbing my forehead of sympathetic flop sweat. If you want to be taken on a frighteningly hilarious journey, give this book a try!” -Shannon McClung, actor/writer from The Pitt and Silicon Valley

"Huckle has achieved something truly remarkable with this brilliant debut novel. It is rare to find an author who can navigate the tightrope between laugh-out-loud humor and moments of profound, heart-touching depth, but Huckle does so with absolute brilliance." -Michael McIlwee, author of A Summer With Dean

THE AUTHOR:
Susan Huckle is an actor in Los Angeles, but that wasn’t self-indulgent enough, so she wrote a memoir. The Earth Is Flat?! And Other Things My Mother Taught Me is about her evangelical-turned-flat-earther parents and quickly became a #1 New Release after its debut on Earth Day 2026. Susan grew up in Santa Maria, CA, and earned her B.A. in Journalism and Dramatic Art from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as a Master of Sustainable Tourism from Arizona State University. Her TV credits include Jane the Virgin, The Mindy Project, and Nickelodeon shows, and she hosts L.A. This Week.
