Details
On Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., the inaugural Scandinavian Fest will bring together the cultures, traditions and communities of Denmark, Sweden and Norway for a free celebration at Lille Bønne Community Living Room, located at 701 E. McCarty Street in
Indianapolis.
Set inside a historic former Danish church, Lille Bønne offers a unique atmosphere where visitors can experience the traditions of the three Scandinavian countries. Guests will discover music, dancing, singing, food, crafts, cultural displays and community while meeting the people and organizations who continue to keep Scandinavian heritage alive in Indiana. No Scandinavian heritage or prior knowledge
is required—just a curiosity to explore, experience and enjoy.
“Scandinavian Fest is about much more than celebrating where we come from—it is about
sharing that heritage with others and creating connections,” said Anita Lerche, founder of
Denmark in Indiana. “For one afternoon, you can experience a little taste of Denmark, Sweden and Norway right here in Indianapolis. We want people to come, enjoy the music, food and traditions, meet new friends, and experience the warmth and joy of our Scandinavian communities.”
Experience the Spirit of Scandinavia
Participating organizations include Denmark in Indiana, SWEA Indiana (SWEA International),
Svea Lodge #253 (Vasa Order of America), Circle City Lodge (Sons of Norway), Dans Norden
and Skandilocity, with Lille Bønne Community Living Room serving as host.
Scandinavian Fest is free to attend and family-friendly, welcoming everyone who wants to
experience Scandinavian culture, traditions and community.
