Lugar Plaza
A new kind of urban park.
Located near the city’s center, Lugar Plaza is a two-acre city park that welcomes residents, workers, and visitors to gather and relax. Named after former U.S. Senator and Indianapolis Mayor Richard G. Lugar, the plaza sits along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail in the Market East Cultural District, creating an accessible green space surrounded by the energy of Downtown. Whether you’re stopping by for lunch, attending an event, or simply taking a break, the park serves as a vibrant gateway to the City-County Building and one of Downtown’s most welcoming public spaces.
