Indy Pride, festivals and events amidst a large-scale convention make for Monumental Weekend Downtown

Visitors and residents encouraged to plan, arrive early, stay late; know your routes and have a back-up parking plan – especially around White River State Park, Mass Ave and Fletcher Place

* A “Monumental Weekend” designation is given by Downtown Indy, Inc. when a density of events and activities are occurring with the anticipation of high foot and vehicular traffic – weekends that draw additional Downtown visitors above and beyond a regular weekend. Nearly 200,000 visitors and residents are anticipated over three days.

Church of the Nazarene General Assembly (Thurs-Wed)

The Indiana Convention Center will host approximately 10,000 from June 9-15 for the Church of the Nazarene 2023 General Assembly. Please contact Visit Indy for media inquiries.

Indianapolis Indians vs. Omaha Storm Chasers (Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun)

The Indianapolis Indians continue their six game homestand against the Omaha Storm Chasers with four more matches leading into the weekend. Fans can enjoy time-honored ballpark traditions including Friday Fireworks, Kids Eat Free Sunday, plus Saturday's STEAM Night, a showcase of Central Indiana careers covering science, technology, engineering, art and math.

Zoobilation at the Indianapolis Zoo (Fri)

The Midwest’s largest black-tie fundraising event, Zoobilation (sold out) is also a party with a purpose, supporting the Zoo’s animal conservation mission and serves as the Zoo’s largest single-day fundraiser.

Indy Pride Parade and Festival (Sat)

Residents and visitors will gather Downtown this weekend and celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride with a variety of events and experiences! This Saturday, June 10 beginning at 10 a.m., more than 140 floats, vehicles, and walking groups will take to the streets of Downtown for the annual Indy Pride Parade. Festivities will run along Mass Ave at the corner of St. Clair and College and conclude at Michigan and Delaware.

Programming continues over at Military Park for the Indy Pride Festival from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The festival features more than 50 entertainment acts, 200 vendors, and a brand-new Sober Lounge and Sanctuary Space for attendees that would like to take a break from the crowd. Italian Street Festival at Holy Rosary (Fri and Sat)

The Holy Rosary Catholic Church, located at 520 Stevens St in Fletcher Place, celebrates its annual Italian Street Festival this Friday and Saturday, June 9 and 10. The festival includes free admission, food trucks, live music, and a special beer by Metazoa Brewing Co.

Billy Strings at TCU Amphitheater (Sat and Sun)

Grammy Award winning bluegrass guitarist Billy Strings plays two sold out shows this Saturday and Sunday at TCU Amphitheater. Both shows will kick off at 8 p.m.

Indy Eleven vs. Hartford Athletic (Sat)

Indy Eleven returns to Michael A. Carroll Stadium on June 10 for a match against Hartford Athletic at 7 p.m. Saturday’s game includes a special “Family Night” promo with inflatables, lawn games and more.

Groovin’ in the Garden (Sat)

This Saturday, June 10, and every Saturday until July 29, Easley Winery presents its free outdoor concert series, Groovin’ in the Garden. From 2-5 p.m., attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and snacks while enjoying a new weekly artist and Easley’s signature wine specials. This week features classic rock from Magnetically Aligned.

Indiana vs. Kentucky High School All-Star Basketball Games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse (Sat)

This Saturday, June 10, Indiana's top high school graduating seniors - boys and girls - face their counterparts from Kentucky in an All-Star basketball doubleheader that begins at 5:00 p.m. Also, new for 2023, top underclass basketball players from Indiana - boys and girls - square off against each other in a North vs. South format in the inaugural All-Star "Futures Games" doubleheader that begins at noon.

Indiana Fever vs. Phoenix Mercury (Sun)

Continuing into Sunday, June 11, the Indiana Fever play the Phoenix Mercury at Gainbridge Fieldhouse featuring star power forward and center Aliyah Boston.

Das GartenGrillfest at The Athenaeum (Sun)

This Sunday, June 11 from 4:30-8 p.m., The Athenaeum’s Rathskeller Biergarten will serve German inspired barbecue during its Das GartenGrillfest. The backyard barbecue features pork hot off the spit, traditional sides, drinks and live music throughout. This is an all ages and dog-friendly event.

Traffic Information

Traffic preparedness overall

  • Evening activities in and around White River State Park, West Street, Washington Street, etc. on Friday and Saturday may likely result in significant traffic delays and added congestion.

Indy Pride Closures

  • There will be multiple closures from NOW to June 11 for the Indy Pride Festival:
    • Ohio St between Blake St and Blackford St from NOW to June 11 at 5 p.m.
    • Blackford St between Wabash St and New York St from June 9 at 3 p.m. to June 10 at 11 p.m.
    • Eastbound lanes of New York St between University Blvd and West St on June 10 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • There will be multiple total closures on June 10 for the Indy Pride Parade:
    • Delaware St between Mass Ave and North St from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Mass Ave between Bellefontaine St and New York St from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Davidson St between St. Claire St and Mass Ave from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • E. St. Clair St between East St and Alvord St from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • College Ave between New York St and 10th St from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Bellefontaine St between Mass Ave and 10th St from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Italian Street Festival Closures

  • The 500-800 Block of Stevens St and the 600-800 Block of Greer St will be closed from NOW to June 11 at 5 a.m. for the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Italian Street Festival.
