Each quarter, through our Art on the Ave program, we spotlight a different artist, and this time we’re thrilled to showcase the latest work of Haykidd at the historic Walker Building.

Join us for the Opening Reception of ‘Perm and other four letter words’ on Friday, August 30 from 6-9PM at the Madam Walker Legacy Center.

This solo exhibition delves into the complexities of grief and the journey of relearning how to navigate the world after loss. Through a stunning combination of drawings, paintings, and sculptures, Haykidd invites viewers to explore the concept of ‘self’ in ‘Perm and other four letter words’. The imagined simplicity of a four-letter word serves as a gateway into the profound process of redefining one’s reality.
