Founded in 1917 by such notable artists as T.C. Steele, Simon Baus, Marie Goth, William Forsyth, and Otto Stark, the Indiana Artists Club has run without interruption ever since. Today, it includes 124 members juried into the organization—professional award-winning artists covering a wide range of media including oil, acrylic and watercolor painting, drawing, printmaking, fabric, wood, mixed-media, photography and glass. The club’s members are known throughout the region, nationally, and some internationally.

At a First Friday reception from 6-9 p.m. at Indiana Landmarks Center on September 2, the annual members exhibition showcases the talent of this diverse group. This evening will include an awards ceremony beginning promptly at 7 p.m. in the Rapp Family Gallery. Juror Amy McLennan, curator at the Swope Museum of Art, will have judged the 70+ entries and selected 16 awards totaling $7,800.

Complimentary snacks and beverages will be available at the reception, when guests can also tour Indiana Landmarks Center. Built as a Methodist church in the nineteenth century, the restored and adapted structure holds theaters and a reception hall in addition to the gallery and Indiana Landmarks’ headquarters. Free admission.
