Details

Five Hoosier artists present their depictions of Indiana waterways in a traveling exhibit designed to call attention to the need for conservation and restoration of the state’s rivers, streams, and tributaries. First shown at the Indiana State Museum in 2022, the exhibit has been displayed at various locations across the state, culminating in a final exhibit at Indiana Landmarks Center. Participating artists include John Kelty of Fort Wayne, Curtis Stanfield of Rosedale, Avon Waters of Converse, and brothers Dan and Tom Woodson of Muncie, displaying works in oil, watercolor, and pastels. Accompanying the exhibit, a limited number of copies of the hardcover book, Indiana Waterways: The Art of Conservation, featuring all 100 paintings from the show, will be for sale.

Complimentary snacks and beverages will be available at the First Friday opening reception on April 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. when guests can also see the stunning architecture of Indiana Landmarks Center’s grand spaces. Built as a Methodist church in the nineteenth century, the restored and adapted structure holds performance and reception venues in addition to Rapp Family Gallery and Indiana Landmarks’ headquarters. Free admission.
