SHOWING THE MOVIE “SHIFTING SANDS: ON THE PATH TO SUSTAINABILITY”
Join us at the Indiana State Museum for a unique film series that combines exhibitions, documentaries and conversations with filmmakers, historians, community members and experts in the field – all in one evening! Recommended for ages 12+.

This film tells the story of how the stunning natural beauty of the south shore of Lake Michigan collides with heavy industry like nowhere else in the country. See how the Indiana Dunes region, where rare plants grow in the shadow of smokestacks, may offer a blueprint to a sustainable future. The screening takes place in the museum’s auditorium and will be followed by a conversation with Damon Lowe, Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites curator of science, technology and biology, and filmmakers Pat Wisniewski, Tom Desch and Rana Segal. Prior to the screening, visit our exhibition Inspired by the Dunes: Paintings of Frank V. Dudley.

Price: FREE with museum admission, free for members, $2/Access Pass member, $5/Indiana college student with valid ID

Pre-registration is encouraged; tickets available at the door as long as seats are available.

Films are shown in the museum’s auditorium.
