Indy Urban Acres, an initiative of The Parks Alliance of Indianapolis, is a collection of farms that utilizes organic farming practices. We work daily to empower and educate people by providing equitable access to free, high-quality produce. Indy Urban Acres is guided by the core belief that all people deserve access to healthy food. Since 2011, Indy Urban Acres has grown from a single site harvesting 15,000 pounds of produce to four sites harvesting 60,000+ pounds of produce. All IUA produce is donated and distributed to community partners that serve households and individuals who experience food insecurity throughout the year
The Indy Urban Acres Plant Sale presented by Trisler Construction is our biggest fundraiser of the year that helps support operating funds. Our Indy Urban Acres staff prepares thousands of plants from seeds to make sure you have the best quality plants for the season. Shoppers can either buy plants ahead online or stop by Indy Urban Acres during opening weekend to browse, sip coffee, listen to live music, and enjoy one of our favorite spaces. We’ll also have sales throughout May so there’s ample opportunities to support equitable food access and build your dream garden.
