Join us for a presentation by Brendan Ballou, author of "Plunder: Private Equity's Plan to Pillage America", as he sheds light on how private equity firms are actively reshaping American business. By using legal loopholes, these entities avoid liability using short-term tactics that often leave the businesses that they purchase a shell of their former selves while communities suffer the long-term consequences of those bottom-line decisions.
The two-hour event will officially open with an introduction by FHCCI's Executive Director, Amy Nelson, to provide a background on local issues surround private equity in Indianapolis to set the stage for the evening’s discussion. Mr. Ballou will then discuss the key findings from his book and how the public can take the necessary action to address housing disparities. An audience Q&A with Mr. Ballou will follow the main presentation and there will be an opportunity for guests to get their books signed by the author.
