Pathways Over Pogue's (POP) invites you to celebrate the reopening of the historic Nowland Avenue Bridge in Spades Park. The repair of the bridge has also helped to move Pogue's Run Trail forward.

There will be speakers including Mayor Hogsett, City County Councillor Zach Adamson, Mark Dollase from Indiana Landmarks, and Mairi Cooper, the daughter of nationally renowned historic bridge author Dr. James Cooper who was a consultant for POP before his death in 2021.

There will be plein air artists, games, kite flying, a bridge building challenge, performance by Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra musicians Daniel Lewis and Allen D. Miller. And washboard player Bill Bailey and banjo player Jude Odell will lead people over the bridge after the ribbon cutting.

Afterwards, for those interested, Zach Adamson will lead people on a bike ride along the proposed Pogue's Run Trail to the Pogue's Run Art and Nature Park. The Indianapolis Hiking Club will hike across the bridge and into Brookside Park. And POP will take people to another deteriorated bridge in Brookside Park that they plan to use surplus campaign funds towards starting the repair process.
