About "Whisper of the Muse":
In this collection, Michelle Robison created art that transcends place, space, and time for the artist as well as the viewer. It heals, reveals and moves you and takes you on a journey, as either the creator or the viewer.
Art allows Robison to transcend physical barriers. She’s on a constant journey to explore mediums. Using clay, glass, papier mache, and metal combined into these stunning and inspiring mixed media pieces. Sometimes, she creates sculptural pieces that can be worn, so art travels with you and you experience it in a whole new way.
About the Artist:
Artist Michelle Robison received her BFA from The Defiance College using the GI Bill. She’s always used art as her coping mechanism, it allows her to be more than the sum of her parts. She lived a few different careers, each one building on the next, though not evident at the time. In the Army, Robison learned to weld, not realizing how well that skill would serve her later in life. Anatomy classes in nursing, later transferring to The Defiance College to work on her BFA after cancer treatment. Working as a jeweler and taking pate de verre class at Corning brought two mediums, metals and glass together for her. Later, treatment at Simon Cancer Center brought her to Indianapolis and a serendipitous walk past Gallery Forty-Two where she saw the figurative art of Frederick Hart. Call it fate, call it serendipity, she knew this was part of her journey.
“I never know when the muse will whisper to me, vexing me until I render in physical form, her vision, you can't ignore the muse. You see my muse in my art” - Artist Michelle Robison
