Join us for our first installment of Shared, Used & Taken a speaker series aimed at amplifying stories of land, parks, greenways, trails, and urban farms.

In partnership with Indiana Humanities, we're excited to welcome Autumn Brunelle, Anishinaabe, a citizen of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, and who grew up on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation in Cass Lake, Minnesota. In her current role as Naturalist at Monroe County Parks and Recreation, Autumn has continued to use her passion for integrating Indigenous Knowledge into environmental spaces through her diverse work experiences with international and local non-profits, the National Park Service, local government organizations, and in creating community-based environmental programming.

On Tuesday, March 1, Autumn will lead a conversation on how to re-frame the narratives surrounding Native peoples, and dissect the intentions of “Land Acknowledgements”. This will be an interactive dialogue with Q&A throughout.

This event will take place outside, at The Parks Alliance's newly relocated office along the White River.
Autumn Brunelle is a selected speaker for the Indiana Humanities speaker's bureau and a part of Unearthed, a new multiyear thematic initiative from Indiana Humanities that encourages Hoosiers to discover and discuss their relationships with the natural world.
