St. Joan of Arc French Market
Saturday, September 7, 2024
Noon to 10:00

Featuring French cuisine, wine and family entertainment, the 34th annual French Market will be held from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, September 7th on the grounds of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4217 Central Avenue.

The free festival, which started as a Sunday afternoon family picnic, has evolved into a major neighborhood street fair with live bands, artisan booths, a raffle, children’s games and an array of French food prepared on site by real chefs! Food and beverage tickets are $1 each and item prices range from $1 to $30. See the full French Market menu at: https://sjoa.org/menu

Featured entertainment this year includes Transatlantis, Roughouse, Pavel and Direct Contact and Living Proof.

The French menu includes quiche, escargot, oysters, mussels, cheese and fruit, Tarte Flambé white Alsatian pizza, Beef Bourguignon, Crawfish Etouffee, Crab Cakes, Shrimp Bisque, Seafood Crepes, Pommes Frites and Ratatouille. French Dip roast beef sandwiches, rotisserie chicken, Chicken Provencal sandwiches and BBQ ribs will also be available.

Dessert offerings include beignets, cheesecake, cream puffs, éclairs and Madeleines. An indoor bake sale features homemade pies, cakes, cookies and pastries made by loving hands.

Dozens of artisans will set up booths in the streets adjacent to the church grounds selling artwork, jewelry, apparel and religious items.

Wear a beret, available from The French Market Boutique, along with other French Market apparel and souvenirs.

The French Market Raffle insures against bad weather and prizes include $2100 in cash.

The separate French Market family festival is located just behind the church and has children’s food and French-themed children’s games from noon until 5:00 and then, from 6:30 to 9:30, the playground will become Club D’Arc, a night club for the senior grades, 5th through 10th. Food, drinks and a live DJ will get the playground going like never before. Gently supervised, of course.

A 5:30 p.m. Mass will be celebrated in the historic newly restored Meridian-Kessler church constructed in 1929. Church tours will be held at 1:30, 3:30 and 6:30 p.m.
