In She's a Badass: Women in Rock Shaping Feminism, longtime music journalist Katherine Yeske Taylor (frequent contributor to Billboard, Spin, American Songwriter, etc.) interviews twenty influential, fearless women about their experiences in the rock world, where women have not customarily been given the same respect and opportunities as their male peers. Each chapter focuses on an individual artist, taking an in-depth look at her most memorable experiences in the music business (and in life in general) that helped cement her place on the list of influential female artists. These chapters reveal, through these artists' own accounts, the incredible talent, determination - and, often, humor - that they needed in order to succeed. Spanning the 1970s through today, these women's stories prove that promoting feminism through living example is, undeniably, badass.
