The Illinois Street Senior Apartment community will be a 64 unit development located in a historic building at 1352 North Illinois Street in Indianapolis. The building, built in the 1920s, is on the National Register of Historic Places and was originally built as a dry cleaning facility. The building has been vacant for a substantial period of time and is going through a significant environmental remediation. The Project will consist of the rehabilitation of the historic building and the new construction of an addition on the south side of the property. One hundred percent of the units will be set-aside for low-income residents. Each unit has been designed for the targeted tenant base, including a community room, exercise room, and business center. In addition, 100% of the units will be accessible or adaptable, and we will have numerous amenities. The rehabilitation will include an elevator, community space and high-end unit finishes. This will be affordable senior housing built using tax credits.
