Newfangled Confections was established in 2012. A modern take on blast-from-the-past candy made with a dash of love and nostalgia in Indianapolis, IN. Candymaker Carrie Abbott’s take on grandma’s candy dish favorites is inspired by childhood memories including trips with her grandfather to Hook’s Drugstore in the late 1970s. Carrie has been on the local food scene since 2008 as a caterer. After an experiment gone deliciously right involving a peanut butter dessert for a wedding reception, her signature candy Frittle was born. Also in her vintage candy line are southern pralines, sweet and spicy pecans, chocolate dipped Frittle, and other seasonal candies. Find the Newfangled Confections crew whipping up sweet treats in the historic Chatham Arch neighborhood in Indianapolis, where she lives with her husband and two daughters.Nearby Art & Culture & Entertainment
